With the future in mind, New Fashion Pork started BWT Holdings in the fall of 2010. To better integrate the NFP production system, BWT Holdings purchases land that is utilized by raising crops, such as corn and soybeans. These crops are used as the major ingredients in our pigs' diet. The entire process becomes more sustainable when we take the nutrient-rich manure from the pigs and incorporate the organic matter back into our land, limiting the need for the application of commercial fertilizer. Through this model, BWT implements best management practices based on incorporating the value pillars of being environmentally sound and utilizing sustainable systems.
